An annual event since 2000, the African-American Heritage Festival in Austin on the last Saturday of February culminates Black History Month with one final celebration of African-American culture and contributions.
Hosted on the peaceful campus of Huston-Tillotson University just blocks from downtown Austin, the festival features vendors, live music, children's activities, and even health screenings and information.
The festival is held in the afternoon in conjunction with Huston-Tillotson University's annual University Day, an open house for high school students and their families held on the last Saturday of February.

2011 African-American Community Heritage Festival Music and Entertainment Line Up
From the Pro Arts Collective website, the the 2011 Heritage Festival will include the following featured musical acts and entertainment:
- African Dancers from the Texas Empowerment Academy
- D-Maddness
- James and the Texas Eastside Kings
- Children's storyteller Elizabeth Kahura
- Regan High School Drumline.
