Billing itself as Austin's best party for more than 30 years, Carnaval Brasileiro is one of the largest Carnaval celebrations outside Brazil.

5 hours of non-stop samba, non-stop dancing, and non-stop partying, Carnaval Brasileiro in Austin orginally had UT roots.

According to legend, the first Austin Carnaval was held in 1975 for Brazilian exchange students at the University of Texas. It was held at a local church and drew approximately 200 attendees. Today it draws 5000 revelers and is internationally recognized.

If you've never attended before, don't be intimidated. Bring some beads, leave the inhibitions, dance all night, and enjoy all the costumes, feathers, and skin.
