Austin Events FebruaryAustin Festivals and Events for FebruaryAustin Events February - It may be the shortest month of the year, but there's still a lot to do in Austin Texas. Fronterafest's fringe theater festival continues this month and there's another annual festival for gardeners. The highlight for the month might be the Carnaval Brasileiro celebration - one of the largest Carnival events outside of Brazil. Be sure to check it out if you can. This is also the month of the Austin Marathon, a qualifying race for the Boston Marathon. (But can the Boston Marathon boast of having nearly 40 bands playing alongside the course?) February is also Black History Month - with the highlight in Austin being the African-American Community Heritage Festival held at Huston-Tillotson University.
