About the Austin Jazz Festival

The Austin Jazz Society is an Austin nonprofit that was formed in 2003.

Its stated mission is to "memorialize professional jazz musicians who, at some point in their career, performed in Austin and the surrounding areas. It is also our aim to celebrate current performing jazz artists and encourage and educate future jazz musicians. Our purpose is achieved through concerts, educational workshops, and performance opportunities."

Additionally, the Austin Jazz Society was named the Real Austin Texas Featured Austin Non-Profit for October 2010.
