The course will remain open for 7 hours, and all finishers (within that time frame) will receive a commemorative medal (and a shirt).
Be sure to check out official 2011 Austin Marathon and Half-Marathon maps and course information.
The Austin race is a popular course for runners. According to race organizers, 80% of the runners come from outside Austin. It's also the fastest course in Texas.
And since this is Austin, there's plenty of live music, with up to 40 bands playing along the course.
