Austin Symphony July 4th Concert and Fireworks
July 4, 2012
8:30 pm - Concert
9:30 pm - Fireworks
Auditorium Shores at the Long Center
Admission - Free
After being cancelled last year due to the severe drought, the annual Independence Day concert and fireworks show in downtown Austin is back!
The Austin Symphony's 4th of July Concert and Firework show typically draws 100,000 people to Auditorium Shores and the vicinity, making it one of the biggest annual events in Austin.
The music begins at 8:30 pm (right around dusk) with a 30 minute firework show following at 9:30 pm.
This is a fun event for the kids and, if you get there early enough with blankets and lawn chairs, a nice place for a picnic. Bring your own meal (but no alcohol) or else snag something from one of the many vendors.
The Austin Symphony's website has a page related to parking and transportation alternatives. It also includes information on road closures and the timeline involved.
Additionally, there's another link to downtown parking garages on the north side of Lady Bird Lake.
