The Bob Bullock Museum (officially The Bob Bullock Texas State History Musuem) is a popular destination for Austin visitors and locals alike.The Bob Bullock boasts a first rate and interactive museum experience, featuring three floors of exhibits, two separate theaters, an on site cafe, and, of course, a great gift shop.
Exhibits at the Bob Bullock State History Museum
The permanent exhibits at the Bob Bullock Museum are organized into three general categories which are each housed on a separate floor:- 1st Floor Theme - Land - A really cool section. Exhibits here encompass both the rugged and varied Texas landscape along with the rich cultural heritages of the state. Texas has been home to a wide assortment of indigenous and non-indigenous peoples and cultures.
- 2nd Floor Theme - Identity - The Texan identity is writ large and is one formed from a unique and robust history. From the Alamo and independence as a sovereign republic to statehood and secession, the second floor exhibits explore the Lone Star Identity.
- 3rd Floor Theme - Opportunity - The state's contributions and achievements are chronicled and highlighted hear. There's lots to see here from the oil boom to the space race and other achievements in medicine, technology, sports, and music.
