Free Day of Yoga
March 5, 2011
Fall: September 2011 (TBA)
Multiple Austin Studios
If you've ever wanted to learn yoga in Austin, or return to it after an absence, or even try out a specific studio or instructor, there's no better opportunity than Austin's Free Day of Yoga.
The annual event, which first began in 1999, is a celebration of and open house for Austin yoga as instructors all over the city provide free sessions in area studios, clubs, grounds, etc.
The tradition has become a huge success and has spread not only throughout Texas, but now includes events in Los Angeles and Philadelphia as well.
UPDATE: There is now a spring Free Day of Yoga beginning in 2011 (March 5, 2011) - the official class schedule hasn't been released at the time of this writing, but you can monitor it on the Free Day of Yoga site.
You can find the 2010 full schedule for the Free Day of Yoga on the official website, but the good news is that there are a tremendous number of sessions available all day long - from early morning all through evening - and for all skill levels. Unless you happen to be working a double shift on Labor Day, there are sessions that should accommodate any schedule and any level.
Please note: some sessions do require prior reservations.
You can also find other Free Yoga Day Austin tips and guidelines here. The most important one? Arrive early to secure your place.
