Austin Events and Festivals

A really neat annual event since 1993, the Heritage Homes Tour in Austin is a terrific way to learn about Austin's past through the exploration of some of its historical homes.

Each year, there's a different theme and selection of homes to tour. In 2011, the theme is "The Bold & Beautiful."

The 2010 tour featured six historical homes (with an emphasis on stone architecture) in West Austin.

The annual event is organized by the Heritage Society of Austin, which was founded in 1953. HSA's twin mission is to be an advocate for the architectural and historical preservation of the greater Austin area as well as to serve in an educational role and promote greater awareness and appreciation of the historical legacy of the area.
