The Kerrville Folk Festival, as its slogan states, has been "Celebrating Songwriters since 1972."
Located at the Quiet Valley Ranch in the Texas Hill Country a few minutes south of Kerrville, Texas, the festival is an 18 day and night musical and community affair.
Spanning multiple musical genres, from traditional folk, bluegrass, and Americana to accoustic rock, blues, country, and jazz, the emphasis and common denominator of the festival is decidedly singer-songwriter.
Festival organizers aim for a blend of nurturing and promoting the next generation of singer-songwriters along with performances by more seasoned talent. The Kerrville Folk Festival boasts having played a number of established musicians in their early days including: Lyle Lovett, Willie Nelson, Michelle Shocked, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Robert Earl Keen, Lucinda Williams, and Nancy Griffith.
