The Menus
The food here is above average Tex-Mex, and there's plenty of variety. There are a half dozen or so different fajita plates alone and the portions in general on all entrees are generous. Even the cheese enchiladas are a hit.
The breakfast menu, which includes nearly 20 different breakfast taco combinations and a dozen or so other breakfast items, is available only on weekends (9am-3pm).
The Bar Menu - With more than 25 different tequilas, La Feria is known for its Margaritas and Mexican Martinis. There's also a decent selection of domestic and imported beer, and a couple of house wines. Happy hour runs weekdays from 3pm to 7pm.
The Experience
The decor is simple and unpretentious. My favorite location is the one on South Lamar, right in the heart of that famous South Austin culture. Just south of downtown, it's a popular lunch time destination for the 9 to 5 crowd.
The South Lamar location also has a nice outdoor patio for those rare occasions in early spring or late fall when whether permits.
And if you're looking for something to do on a Thursday night, the South Lamar location features some first class Mariachis.
