The Renegade Craft Fair debuted in Austin in 2010. This free annual arts, crafts, and design show with a special emphasis on DIY originated, as I understand it, in Chicago in 2003. The fair also takes place in Brooklyn, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, and London.

You can check out the Renegade Craft Fair Austin full showcase of the 200+ participating independent artists and vendors here. The Fair also features numerous workshops and demonstrations. In 2010, that included the opportunity to screenprint your own t-shirt, make jewelry, and use a free photobooth.

This is a fun and innovative (and free) event, and something that's undoubtedly right at home in Austin.
