St. Patrick's Day Austin
March 17, 2011
2pm – 10pm
Cover 3 (new venue) Admission - $8-$10 (12 and under free)
There are always a number of options for celebrating St. Patrick's Day in Austin.
First and foremost is the St Patrick's Day Festival at Cover 3 on Anderson LN, which bills itself as "The Largest St. Patrick’s Day Event in Central Texas." The festival may not be as big as Austin’s other other annual celtic event, the two-day Austin Celtic Festival held each November. But it’s still a can’t-miss event for those who enjoy celebrating St. Patrick’s Day in Austin.
The music-filled 2011 event runs from 2pm until 10pm and features Irish performers The David Munnelly Band and MacDara O'Conaola as well as numerous local Irish bands and performers and dancers.
There will also be various free workshops and activities included with admission. The Gaelic League of Austin is providing a Children's Storybook Hour, an Introduction to the Irish language, and a presentation on Irish Blessings and Curses.
