An Austin spring rite of passage since the late 1950s, the Zilker Garden Festival is a weekend gardening event held at the beautiful Zilker Botanical Gardens.

The event features a wide assortment of vendors offering plants and pottery to arts and crafts and herbal products. You are encouraged to bring a wagon.

• Standard Flower Show – presented by the Violet Crown Garden Club & Capitol City Judges.
• A series of Garden Talks is scheduled throughout the weekend on a variety of gardening topics.
• What would a festival in Austin be without live music? Be sure to check out the Rose Garden area for live performances.
• The Kids Corner, also in the Rose Garden, is for the little gardeners. Highlights include face painting, painting and decorating, and the chance to build birdhouses and birdfeeders.
• A limited number of food vendors will also be on site.

The festival is a great introduction to the Zilker Botanical Gardens if you’ve never been here before or for those who are already familiar with the Gardens, a good reason for a return visit.
